Skate Holder Q&A
How do you read an edge checker and make appropriate adjustments on a 3 knob Blademaster skate holder?
Our BR100 and BR1000 have a direct relationship with our 3-dial holders. One line on the BR100 & BR1000 equates to two clicks on the left and right dials on the skate holder. If you’re out two lines on the right side of the skate holder than you will turn the dial 4 clicks in the appropriate direction in order to square that side of the blade up to the wheel.
How do I calibrate or recalibrate my skate holder?
Our skate holders are calibrated at the factory. So when they ship out - they should be ready to go.
To recalibrate your skate holder - head over to our YouTube channel and watch part of this video.
If that link does not work, head over to our channel on YouTube -> find @blademasterskatesharpening -> look for the Blademaster Skate Holders video.
If you still aren't able to calibrate your holder - please contact customer support to get in touch with tech support.
Are there replacement parts for the skate holders?
Yes. We sell replacement parts and glide pads for all our holders.
When does the glide pad on my skate holder need to be replaced?
As soon as the glide pad turns a dark grey instead white and when you start to notice that the holder isn’t gliding across the tabletop as easily as it did - it's time to replace the glide pad.
Do you sell used skate holders?
It is very rare that we sell used skate holders. Always check our used equipment list page for what we have available.
